Audio-Technica AT2040 is a front-address dynamic XLR microphone designed for podcasting, streaming, voice recording, and other spoken-word production. Audio-Technica specifies a hypercardioid polar pattern, an 80 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response, 600-ohm impedance, and an integral three-pin XLRM output. Its design includes an integrated shock mount and multistage windscreen intended to reduce stand vibration, plosives, and unwanted side or rear pickup.
